A Pure Heart

Do you desire a pure heart? Think on these; The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? (Jeremiah 17:9). God Who knows the heart of man declared that, every imagination of the thoughts of man’s heart was only evil continually (Genesis 6:5). A sinner’s heart is polluted, corrupt and full of wicked imaginations. Evil comes from the heart as Jesus declared, “for out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murder, adulteries, fornication, thefts, false witness, blasphemies; these are the things which defile a man (Matthew 15:19, 20). But good things come from a pure heart. You then want to ask, how can the heart be purified? The first step to get a pure heart is by confessing one ’s sins, forsaking them and praying until one is sure his sins are forgiven (1 John 1:9; Romans 8: 16). This experience is called salvation, being born again or justification. After a person is saved, he now has the opportunity of approaching the Throne of Grace for the s...

Salvation: A radical Transformation

When a person is converted, the changes are evident. What is salvation? It is   justification by faith, being born again or forgiveness of sin. It converts the earth from bad to good. It happens when a person recognises that he is a sinner, confesses his sins to GOD, repents, forsakes them, and believes that the blood of JESUS, shed on the cross of Calvary washes away his sins, GOD forgives him. The Spirit of GOD will let him know. ‘’The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of GOD’’ (Romans 8:16). Conversion produces a noticeable difference in a life. True Salvation makes a change, a real transformation. ‘’Therefore if any man be in CHRIST, he is a new creature: old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new’’ ( 2Corinthians 5:17). What are the old things that pass away at Salvation? The outward sinning ceases; the alcoholic no longer drinks, the drug addict no longer takes drugs; the thief stops stealing and the smoker st...

Live with Heaven in View

M y parents raised their children carefully and taught us to love and respect God and His house. The Word of God was planted in our hearts from an early age. My siblings and I were faithfully taken to Sunday school and church. Our parents also made sure we read the Bible and prayed—not by asking us if we had, but by reading and praying with us. Mom and Dad went to God for everything. Their trust in Him was constant and never wavered. Many times when I was sick, they knelt beside my bed and prayed for me. On one occasion, my throat was quite swollen from tonsillitis. They prayed, and God undertook. Through situations like this, it was instilled in my heart to trust the Lord. When I was about ten years old, I knelt and prayed asking the Lord to come in and make a change in my heart, and He saved me. Even though I was a young girl, He made a change that was real; He put peace and joy in my heart. Later, I also received the experiences of sanctification and the baptism of the Holy Gh...

The Great Repairer

Do you know JESUS? You need to know HIM. You may have known HIM in several dimensions, but now, we want to see HIM as the great repairer. And when they came again to him, (for he tarried at Jericho,) he said unto them, did I not say unto you, go not? (2kings 2:18). The man speaking in this verse was Elisha, who got the double portion of Elijah’s power. At this time, he told the people looking for Elijah not to go because Elijah had gone to Heaven. Have you been going here and there looking for somebody to repair your life and change your condition? Stop going here and there, as Elisha told the sons of the prophets. The power of GOD is available if you will OBEY. Promise yourself not to go away until you receive his blessing. When you tarry with the repairer, HE will work on your life. Will you tarry? And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, i pray thee, the situation of this city is pleasant ,as my lord seeth: but the water is naught, and the ground barren (2kings 2:1...

Looking Back 1

The Christian race is one that should be taken seriously and not with levity,... Because once we surrender of life to CHRIST, Heaven bears record of it, our names are written down in the book of life, we gain recognition there. It’s quite unfortunate how so many people have nonchalant attitude towards this aspect of their lives, they tend to ‘look back’. Our Lord JESUS CHRIST says in Luke 9:62 ” …No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. ” When walking, running, driving, flying,... You move forward and not looking behind, the moment you do so, you get distracted, you lose focus. Now I'm  not talking about looking behind you physically, I'm laying emphasis on the worldly ways which probably seems normal to humans but are not pleasing to GOD; the things you probably used to do as a sinner, are you still doing them? Thereby taking GOD’s GRACE for granted. The moment we (CHRIST’s Ambassadors) look back, we are liable to go that...

The king's meat

Timothy in his teachings encouraged us christians to continue in the right way (JESUS) which we have been led to ( 2timothy 3:14 ). He knows that youthful lust leads to great temptation, he therefore advised that being contented with what you have also prevents lust ( 1tim 6:6, 2tim 2:3).     Taking a look at the case of Gehazi, he had the opportunity to be one of the greatest prophets in the bible, he could have had a double portion of Elisha his master's anointing, but he lost it all due to lust ( 2kings 5). His worldly pleasure caused himself and his generation a great negative deal (leprosy), and the anointing meant for him was taken to the grave ( 2kings 13:21)      1corinthians 2:9, GOD has great things for those who love HIM, if you don't give yourself to the pleasures of this world, you will enjoy GOD. As christians ( ambassadors of JESUS CHRIST ) our home (final destination) is HEAVEN, we are therefore in a strange land here on ea...
