Almost Saved, But Lost - Part 1
Opening Scripture: Luke 17:32 : "Remember Lot’s wife."
The story of Lot’s wife is one of the most sobering warnings in the Bible. She was at the threshold of deliverance but never made it through. She was almost saved but still lost. How tragic it is to be so close to salvation, yet miss it!
Many people today are in the same situation. They are close to salvation, they know about God, they attend church, they have Christian friends, but they have not fully committed to Christ. They are standing at the edge of deliverance, but something is holding them back.
"The transformation of lot's wife into a pillar of salt serves as a striking and enduring symbol of the dangers of disobedience and the consequences of clinging to the past, her act of looking back was not merely a physical turn off the head, but a manifestation of a heart unwilling to fully embrace the path of obedience and trust in God's guidance. In examining the significance of lot's wife turning into a pillar of salt, we glean timeless lessons about the dangers of nostalgia, the reluctance to let go of sinful environments and the profound consequences of disobedience to God's explicit commands.
The scriptural narrative serves as a profound lesson on the importance of immediate and complete obedience to God's commands." __
Lot's wife had the Right Opportunity, but she wasted It. (Genesis 19:15-17) – The angels took Lot and his family by the hand, leading them out of the city before destruction. Lot’s wife had a divine opportunity to escape, but she did not make it. Many people today hear the gospel, feel the conviction of the Holy Spirit, and even step toward Christ, but they do not fully surrender. Salvation is not about proximity; it is about decision.
The question now is: Have you had opportunities to surrender to Christ but keep delaying?
